Artist's Comments

Sorry for the crappy quality.

Seeing this piece on the computer sucks. Its way better in person because you can get the full effect of what is really going on.

I used about 6 layers of thick acetate paper, with different designs/patterns/paper cutouts and paintings methods on each layer of acetate paper. so you get the photoshop layering feeling, but in a more 2-d/3-d way because there is some depth from one layer to another. Damn, idk if all that made any sense.

KK anyway, the story behind this was a little mermaid theme. Like in every fairy tale, there is always time running out. The maiden is bound by the clock and has very little hope of what she truly desires. blah blah blah. Thats it, I'm officially tired of explaining things right now. I'm going to bed.

media: acrylic, paper cut out, photoshop(for the girl), acetate paper, and copic marker for the background.
